For some, The Oak Ridge Boys seemed to come out of nowhere when they scored early-'80s smashes with "Elvira" and "Bobbie Sue." But they'd been blending gospel, country and pop on excellent records for years; amazingly, their three 1973-76 Columbia LPs have never been on CD, but they come to CD now along with singles and compilation-only Columbia tracks from that period plus overlooked 1990-93 RCA singles. Lots of country hits here: "Praise the Lord and Pass the Soup" (that's a bonus track with Johnny Cash and the Carter Family), "Family Reunion," "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration," "Lucky Moon," "Change My Mind" (remixed single version), "Baby on Board," "Fall" and more!
