Deluxe three disc (two CDs + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) edition includes a bonus CD of rare live tracks and previously unreleased BBC sessions as well as a DVD that serves as a visual presentation of the album including imagery and projection used from when the band play live and behind the scenes footage. Cast of Thousands was the British Alt-Rock band's sophomore album, originally released in 2003. Following on from the Mercury nominated Asleep in the Back, Cast of Thousands saw Guy Garvey adopt a more optimistic lyrical path from the opening track 'Ribcage' with Garvey singing about pulling his ribs apart to "let the sun inside", with the vocals swept up together by the London Community Gospel Choir. NME described the album as 'wreathed in a kind of celestial soulfulness, awash with atmospheric sonic trickery and Jazz/Psychedelic influences,'
