This intense thriller opens as two astronauts (Gary Collins and James Hampton) are deploying a satellite from a space shuttle when it collides with an unidentified object. The object makes a crippled but safe landing in the remote southwestern desert where it is quickly carted off by government agencies to a secret Air Force base. Meanwhile, the two astronauts are back on earth and are anxious to know what happened, but no one is talking.
